Today Yan's essay 'Why a tree is rooted in more than just soil' is published on the Dutch independent journalism platform De Correspondent, together with a selection of images from her Forest project. It's been translated from English to Dutch but you can ask Google to translate back:) It's been a refreshing expereince to write for a journalism platform, which has very different audiences from Yan's usual publishing platforms. It's the first time that the platform is asking photographers to write for their own images. Normally the photographers will contribute the visual content and a writer will contribute the essay.
