Six portraits from Yan Wang Preston's She and He series, commissioned by Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool, will be shown in the group exhibition Facing Britain: British Documentary Photography since the 1960s. The show is curated by Ralph Goertz and will be staged at Kumsthalle Darmstadt in Germany from the 4th September 2021 to the 9th January 2022. The ambitious exhibition includes 48 artists, such as Martin Parr, John Davies, Anna Fox and Ken Grant. That Preston has only become a British citizen in 2009, and that her photographs are of the transient population in Britain-overseas students, make her inclusion in this show significant.
